Wisdom in Chains play a very personal brand of hardcore,
focusing on song writing rather than endless chugging or numerous breakdowns as
their bread and butter. Songs about daily struggle, the day to day grind of
work and society, religion and of course, family. The sound on "Class
War" is aggressive, but it's not overwhelmed with down-tuned guitars and
hitch pitch shouting. Their style reminds me more of Sick of it All or maybe
even Agnostic Front. Is it filled with attitude? You bet, but they convey in a
much more technical manner. There are 16 songs in total on the album, and aside
from a few similar traits, none of them sound like a copy paste clone of one
another. Again, they use their musical interests to tell the story of their
songs, which results in a unique sound throughout the album. This is a solid
album; true to the roots of hardcore, but not just another generic blip on the
radar. Old school and modern fans alike will appreciate this album for sure.
